About Mrs. Maiers!
I am Amy Maiers, the PreK-12 grade art Teacher at Jackson Heights. I have been a teacher here since 2006 and I have enjoyed it immensely. I taught in Iowa for a year and in Michigan for 6. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a combine major of Art and Education with an emphasis in Ceramics and a minor in coaching. I finished my Masters in Curriculum Instruction at Emporia State . The arts are a major part of our lives and I believe that you can never stop learning new things.
I am happily married to my husband Dan and we have three children: Mason, Zach, and Mackenzie. We live in Holton and keep busy through our many hobbies. When I am not working on art, I enjoy working on remodeling our house, reading, kayaking, camping, and hanging out with friends and family.
Welcome to the Jackson Heights Art Department Website!
