Jackson Heights Art Department

The Art Club will be hosting a face painting table Friday the 19th, during the football game.  We will be starting around 6:00 on the north side of the concession stand.  Hope to see you there!

Once again the Jackson Heights Art Club attended the Kansas City Renaissance Festival on Saturday, October 6th.  Even though it was only 45 degrees, the students had a wonderful time exploring the culture of the renaissance.  Students watched many of the shows such as the gypsy dances, the fire eaters, the sword fighting and of course the joisting.  We enjoyed the many different booths of food, art, and clothing.

Special thanks to Huck who helped drive a sububran that had mostly girls and was willing to be a sponsor for our trip, the Jackson Heights Adminstration for approving this experience for our students.

I hope that you have had a wonderful summer and enjoyed your time off from school. But as an art teacher, I am working on projects and ideas to make this coming school year even better and exciting for you to learn about art and its global influence. I am going to be doing things a bit differently... change is good, challenging, but good... It creates growth and creativity, so I am pretty excited to see what you think. Let me know your opinions!
